Chemistry: 

Hands on exploration of the periodic table, molecules, scientific method, and weekly experiments

Tuesdays PM Block

Minecraft coding: 

Each participant gets a lifetime Code Kingdom account, unlimited access to video courses and a private server. Participants will follow along with coding lessons together. Participants do not need a computer as they may share the Hive computer for coding practice. However, participants are encouraged to bring a computer if able so they can log in to their own account and practice the coding lesson on their own server. Coding can only be done in Java edition on windows/mac computer. It is not compatible with Bedrock Edition on tablets/consoles/mobile devices. (Please see Code Kingdom FAQ support for more information on compatible device options for coding)

Wednesdays AM Block

Music Immersion with Guest Educator, Lisa Jane Lipkin (https://www.lisajanelipkin.com/)

Music Immersion will encompass embodying music, active listening, music elements, the art of music and composition. The Music Immersion Session will end with participants creating and showcasing a "Stomp" inspired musical presentation.

Wednesdays PM Block 

Creative Expression and Robotics: 

Creative writing, poetry exploration, and robotics coding 

(Reading and writing skills not required- "writing" can be expressed through writing, dictation, copy work, or creative expression such as collages, sketching, painting, etc. Robot coding may be pictorial or block written script depending on skill level)

To register for a Hive session please complete the enrollment interest form. Enrollment priority is given to current Hive families and new full-day participants. Individual block sessions will be filled January 1, if space remains. Invoices will be sent upon enrollment acceptance into a session. Hive classes are eligable for EFA reimbursement. At Hive discretion, snow make ups will be rescheduled to an alternate day (Monday, Thursday or Friday) or may be added on to the end of the session.
