About the event

Contact the Hive for payment plans or alternative enrollment options.

Bee Free Kids is a small group enrichment opportunity focused on raising a future generation of independent, free-thinking, compassionate humans. While the primary focus is life and social-emotional skills, children also deepen their reading, writing, math and science skills. Each experience offers child-led exploration of various themes and activities that encourage experimentation, creativity, and play.

Ages 6 to 12/14

You know your child's interests best. Contact the Hive to discuss if it's a good fit for your child(ren).

Individual themes by day will be added to the schedule soon. General session topics include:

Monday: Mindfulness and Art - Each week offers an art project and mindfulness practices (labyrinth, breath work, vision boards, social-emotional regulation games/activities, drawing, painting, photography, clay, etc.)

Tuesdays: STEM - This session includes cladograms, classification, species investigation, and dissection (optional) opportunities

Wednesdays: Freestyle - Stations offer a collection of science, math, art, history, reading and writing opportunities. Child-led exploration of activities of their choice. Guidance to participate in a variety of activities is encouraged but not enforced. Adults encouraged (though not required) to spend some time in the Hive to engage in your child's learning and meet their social circle.

Clubs offer a short, focused visit to the Hive. Freestyle stations are always available.

Homesteading may include knitting, cooking/baking, animal care, gardening, etc.

Legos includes a suggested weekly challenge and free-build opportunities

Board games - bring a favorite from home or play one of the many Hive games. Learn chess, play old favorites, discover new favorites!

All programs are drop-off. Adults always welcome to stay. Adults may participate and engage in their child's learning or may utilize separate spaces to work.

When selecting tickets:

For consistency and friendship building, "ALL fall" tickets are for participants intending to participate in all Bee Free Kids fall sessions Monday through Wednesday 10a-3p. ALL fall participants are also welcome to participate in all fall clubs. Please let me know which ones you will be participating in (3p-4:30p).

For all other participants please select your session(s) and club(s) of choice by purchasing individual tickets to each desired session/club

Please bring enough food for lunch/snacks while in the Hive. Wear play clothes. Consider a change of clothes for messy activities, spills, etc. Bring any sunscreen, bugspray, snow gear, etc. needed.
